Cellophane Bags Can Be Bio-Degradable

The common misconception is that cellophane bags are harmful to the environment. For this reason a lot of people have been shunning away from using these. They think that by using these cello bags, they are adding more damage to the already damaged environment that we have. Fortunately, the good news is that these cello bags are made from regenerated cellulose, thus it is fully bio-degradable.

These cello bags have a lot of uses. From the usual packaging of goods to microwaveable bags for left-over food. One great use for cello bags is to use it as a gift package. No matter how small or how big your gift is, it can be cello bagged. Even if you have a big gift to wrap, you can always ask manufacturers to cut it according to your specifications. You can be as artistic as you can be. Actually having a clear cello bag gives you limitless opportunities to practice your creativity. You can add a colorful ribbon or even insert colorful paper inside to give your gift an element of surprise.

Another way of using a cello bag is to use it as a food packaging especially if you are into the food business. Take for example a work at home Mom who is into meat processing. If you have a yummy recipe for fresh sausages, you can make it and package it in the cello bag. As the cello bag is made of clear plastic, you can easily insert your contact number and other details of your product inside so that the buyer can see where he or she can call you the next time he or she places and order.

Even Mom and Pop stores can benefit greatly by using a cello bag. Mom and Pop stores usually have candy corners where kids and adults alike go for their sugar fix. This could be a great packaging material as kids pick out their favorite candies. Imagine the colorful candies inside the transparent cello bag.

As mentioned earlier, cello bags can be great gift wrappers. Not only can you insert a colorful paper of fabric inside then tie it with a colorful ribbon and you are good to go. Imagine if you can print our the name or the gift's recipient over and over in a piece of paper and insert it inside, then you have a very personalized gift wrapper for the person.

Because cello bags are bio-degradable, using it will not cause you any guilt. After all we do have to do our share in helping protect our environment. We can always opt for stuff that are re-usable so that we do not leave harmful elements here on earth for the next generations to enjoy. Much has been said about each and every person's role in helping protect the environment so if you keep on using packaging materials that can not be recycled then you are taking part in the further degradation of our environment. Good thing that these cellophane bags are bio-degradable so you can use it as much as you want.

What's Wrong With Multitasking?

You may be doing something terribly wrong!

Are you a person who has so much on your plate that you juggle several things all at the same time? Do you pride yourself on your multi-tasking abilities? Is this scenario familiar to you? You're on a conference call and simultaneously scanning your emails, grabbing a bite to eat and jotting down notes for tomorrow's presentation?

If yes, keep reading.

You may be thinking, I'm doing pretty well at the balancing act and I'm someone who gets things done. Wrong, my friend...

The benefits to multi-tasking are actually WAY overrated.

In fact, it rarely saves time to multitask. Michigan psychologist David E. Meyer, PhD, along with his colleagues have found that rather than accomplishing more, people slowed down considerably when multitasking. Participants who were part of this study lost a significant amount of time shuttling between tasks of varying complexity and familiarity, adding as much as 40 percent to completion time compared to finishing one job and beginning another.

Switching back and forth among tasks creates stress and divides your attention. Plus, it's harder to remember where you left off and requires more thinking. It actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. It's hard to bounce in and out of getting things done and if you are in the "flow" of an activity it's so much easier to get things done AND do them well.

In another really interesting study, researchers @ Kings College, London found in more than 80 clinical trials this "eye-opening" fact: By multi-tasking and trying to work on a project while checking their email reduced their IQ score by up to 10 points. This would be equivalent to losing a night of sleep. Wow, multi-tasking is starting to sound a lot less appealing isn't it?

To really bring this point home, it was found that smoking a marijuana cigarette decreases the IQ by 4 points. So, in comparison multi-tasking significantly and considerably lowers your IQ by up to 10 points. Wow, multi-tasking isn't quite as appealing now is it?

What's the solution? Be fully present in whatever activity you are doing in the moment. Resist the temptation to do multiple things at the same time. It's actually a waste of your time! The truth is that you get more done in the long run by doing one thing at a time with your full and undivided concentration.

Bottom line? Work smarter not harder. You will accomplish more, make fewer mistakes and do it all in a shorter amount of time and that is a smart thing to do!

In 2005, Harris Interactive released a study, which found that only 20% of American workers are passionate about what they do. Wow, only 20%! That is

A large portion of the dynamic relationship with your joint venture partner consists of communication. You must be able to communicate effectively in order to nurture a successful JV arrangement. But are you aware that communication is in larger part an act of listening?

Communication is sending messages between two points. You send messages to your joint venture partner via both verbal (written or spoken) and non-verbal communication. Non-verbal communication includes how you listen and interpret your JV partner's signals and messages.

A communicator who is an active listener will be better equipped to handle and respond to the messages being sent. For instance, if you are in a meeting with your joint venture partner and you are being told that the arrangement may not be working for him, a good listener will be able to discern what is actually being said. By listening and asking the right questions, you may be able to discover that the time commitment for your JV partner is more than expected. You, as the good listener, can communicate and negotiate a better arrangement that is more suitable and yet still beneficial to both you and your JV partner.

Active listening is a skill. When you practice active listening, you should be doing the following:

* Give Attention - Don't let your eyes wander around the room when your joint venture partner is talking to you. Focus on him and let him know that what he has to say is important to you. This also means even though your eyes are focused on him, you are not thinking about your shopping needs or hobby participations after work.

* Listen and Observe - Not only should you listen to what is being said, but carefully observe body language as well. Body language can tell you much about what is being said. Crossed arms for example could indicate that your JV partner is closed-off to input. Frowns and squints may indicate that he is confused. Key into these non-verbal signals as well.

* Show Feedback - Let your joint venture partner know you are listening. Nod occasionally that you understand what is being said. Smile. Raise your eyebrows. Your responses are positive feedback to your partner that you are indeed actively listening.

* Recollect Your Understanding - Active listening means understanding. Sometimes you may not fully comprehend the message given to you. In that case, confirm what is being said by saying, "if I understand you correctly, you are saying..." and rephrase in words that make sense to you.

* Give Honest Responses - Responding to your JV partner is important. It is also important not to allow emotions to take control of communication. If you become upset at what your joint venture partner says, announce your feelings, but don't allow yourself to say something inappropriate or that you might regret. Being honest with your feelings is different from letting feelings sabotage a conversation.

Your continued JV success with your partner depends upon how well you communicate together. Be sure you become an active listener so that you have the tools needed to participate in a fruitful conversation.

What's Your Passion?

In 2005, Harris Interactive released a study, which found that only 20% of American workers are passionate about what they do. Wow, only 20%! That is really incredible if you think about it. This means 80% of the working population feels on some level, unhappy, dissatisfied, and unfulfilled. In all likelihood, 4 out of every 5 people you meet are frustrated, under-enthused and not feeling like they are living their "purpose".

Entrepreneurs are the lucky ones.

Most likely you started your business because you have such a strong passion for the products and services that you offer.

If your passion is strong, you've got a clear vision, AND a plan in place with well designed strategies to execute your vision and goals then you've got a really good shot at being successful with your own business. What's really exciting is that you can market your businesses today in ways that didn't even exist a couple of years ago. How? By creating your own platform both online and offline by using incredibly effective social media tools such as blogging, twitter, facebook, online radio shows and online TV.

Is there a learning curve? For sure.

Do the rules of the game change often? Without a doubt.

But here's what is so exciting. You can really "stand" out and become more visible if you are willing to embrace a whole new way of "doing" business.

First let's talk about wine. (I'll tell you why in just a minute)

I basically know very little about wine, other than a few incidentals based on my own family history. Because my mom was a native German, I was introduced to local white wines that came from the area of my German relatives. So I know my way with those super long German names on wine bottles. Bottom line, I basically know what tastes good to me and occasionally have a glass now and then.

Just in the last couple of weeks, wine popped on my 'radar screen". First was that I heard an interview that my friend and mentor, Gina Ratlliffe hosted with a really smart and energetic guy named Gary Vaynerchuk, who has his own online TV show called Wine Library TV. I checked out his web site, watched a few of his videos (really good) and watched a clip of Gary introducing wine to Ellen DeGeneres (and laughed out loud, it's a funny segment, check it out) The really powerful thing that I learned here was what Gary is such a great example of being a really smart businessman AND an authentic, genuine person. By blending his passion and using the "cool" new social networking tools Gary Vanderchuk is becoming very successful and a bit of a celebrity. On a personal side note, it sparked some interest on my part to learn more about wine. It's pretty interesting once you learn more.

Bottom line, if you really love what you are doing and are good at it, there is no better time than now to prosper from your passion.

Why? Now more than ever, people crave the "real deal", they want to know like and trust who they are buying from. Authenticity, truth and transparency are what we all respond to. This is the "perfect storm" for who are willing to grow their businesses by creating and using an online platform via blogs, tweets, YouTube, and other social media opportunities.

If a wine enthusiast can do it, so can you!
